Coffee and tea are two of the most popular drinks on the planet, each with its own rich history of tradition as well as a bevy of dedicated enthusiasts. To say that we, here at Coffee Tea Club, are fans of these two delightful beverages would be a colossal understatement. Our aim with this blog is to inform and inspire people in the UK and worldwide to dive deep into their love for coffee and tea, and to embrace the joy of experiencing these two simple (yet seemingly indispensable) pleasures of life.

Not only are coffee and tea loved and enjoyed by millions of people around the world every day, but both commodities also wield an astounding amount of influence on the global economy. In fact, coffee is the world’s second most traded commodity (coming in only behind oil), with a yearly output that tops $100 billion. Coffee is produced by more than 25 million farmers in over 70 different countries around the globe, with more than 11 million hectares of farmland being dedicated to coffee cultivation. Coffee enthusiasts (that would include us) drink over 500 billion cups of this iconic beverage every year, with 14 billion of that number being in the form of Italian espressos. The true influence of coffee cannot be fully quantified even by these impossibly large numbers, but it is well known and felt by those of us who enjoy our cup of coffee every day.

In terms of worldwide influence, tea is no different; it is the second-most consumed beverage on the planet next to water, and in the UK alone, 80% of the population drinks tea to the tune of 165 million cups per day. This ubiquitous staple of British culture is not only important for the sake of tradition, but drinking tea also carries important health benefits as well; in fact, the antioxidants found naturally in tea have been shown to have powerful cancer-fighting properties. In addition, research has shown that drinking tea on a daily basis can counteract the effects of aging. So not only is drinking tea a delight to the palate, but it will also help you stay young and healthy as well!

One of the main goals of this blog is to educate people regarding the various types of coffee and tea related products that are available, and to produce guides and reviews that will give readers a balanced and informative look at how to best enjoy these two essential beverages.
